TOYSNEWS.ORG - Need to get some appraisal. All thoughts are appreciated! Thanks!

"Toy News" sounds a bit better to me. And, of course, the .com is best. Unless there's a website with a similar name or slogan to ToysNews{dot}org, I would consider $100 to be a good offer on this. Part of what I base this on is one of my own domains: ChildrensToys{dot}net, which is barely going above $200 in an auction at the moment--in spite of some publicity and end user contacts. (I'm not trying to steer anybody to that auction, which is why I haven't named the site. And it ends in 1 hour anyway.)

My point is that even a relatively good domain name with actual search volume can go for very little if it isn't .com.

Thanks! I own ToyNews.org too...

Btw what do you think about ToyNews.org and which one will be more suitable for developing?

Kindly advice me :)

If you plan on developing one, use ToyNews.org because it's easier to say aloud. In that case, keep ToysNews.org and forward it to ToyNews.org so that the latter is your public face on the internet. ToysNews.org will still protect your brand and prevent "search leaks" (i..e when people can't remember whether you are "Toy News" or "Toys News" and type the wrong thing).

.org still isn't ideal. But if you make a good website, nobody will really care. Take a look before you start developing at what the .com version is priced at. In case you want to buy it, now might be a better time because of the state of the economy and also because domainers like to increase their prices once they see a developed business that has already invested a lot in a brand on .org or .net and now can't afford to have the .com version stolen by a competitor.

Thanks! been thinking on developing of ToyNews.org soon...

Greatly appreciated for the kind advice :)

There should be a lot of ways to monetize ToyNews.org with multiple affiliate programs and Amazon Associates. If you can get a stylish blog going, you might also be able to find partner advertisers on parenting websites.

(I spoke too soon about ChildrensToys{dot}net. The bidding continues past $1050. I'm glad one of my 5 in the auction wasn't a dud!)
