Trade Mark issue

A few weeks ago I've registered a domain name with a possible huge TM issue. At that time I did not realize this but now I want to undo this somehow.

Can anybody give me advice of how to get rid of the domain name so I don't have to worry about it anymore

Some registrars permit deletion of domain registrations. If it is not clear from your registrar's website, then contact their support people to ask how the registration may be deleted.

I had this situation happen to me - and it involved one of the biggest companies on the Internet. They sent me a good old C&D type letter and it basically told me to not use the name - and not try to sell it. After contacting them - they didn't ask me to give them the name - they just asked that I let the name expire.

So I am - and it's the right thing to do.

Don't stress over this. As long as you don't have bad intentions and try to use the name for something you shouldn't - just let it expire when it comes time to renew - and that will be the end of it. They are not going to come after you as long as you don't ever do anything with the name and just let it expire.

Of course - there are cases that are worth fighting for - but unless you really think the name is worth the cost of legal fees and are confident that you can win - just let it go.

Chalk it up to experience. A lesson learned!

No. Not in the U.S. I have seen situations where a TM owner went after a person who sold a domain name for damages, even when the seller no longer had the domain name.

A big thanks to all for replying. I already have solved the issue with my registar now

I registered a couple names earlier this year.

I realized that it could be a TM problem. So, I asked
Enom to delete them.

And, they came back and said that they could not
give me a refund because it was longer than 5 days.

I said I didn't care nor requested a refund.
I had to fax them authorization to do it.

So, they immediately removed them from my acct.
And, set them for delete.

I think they thought I was nuts.
