Hi,

I was wondering whether a domain with the word "Oscar" in it would be an issue for trademarks?

I intend to develop it and have some content about the Oscars...

Please Let me know

Yes it would be an issue then..the basics are; unless you have signed permissions dont use TM words in association with with the TM .. Using "OSCAR " in association withthe Oscars would be a TM infringement .. building a website about your new restaraunt named "Oscars" would be acceptable unless you had an "oscar awards " theme.Building a site about your dog OSCAR also would not be a infringment of the Oscars TM.

That said any "Oscar" TM holdercan still come after you at any time they "think" you are infringing on their mark..whether you are or not. Same with just about any word you can think of.

laymans advise.. simply dont use in association with TM
