if a name contains any part of a trademark can it be taken from you?

example: TrademarkSomething.com <-- only the first half contains the trademark. the second word is just a common word.

Pretty much yes, of course there are exceptions, primarily based on how you use it.

Best to just stay away from tm's

You can test it out by registering ebaymicrosoft.com - oh wait, some idiot already did that :D

so what if you have a 3 word first word being tm then 2 other words, then your still liable to have it taken? and if so what do you do at that point? unregister it or something?

i took the risk and registered one of them.
