I am just wondering how the whole premium TV domain system works. Does anyone own one of these domains? I am wondering how some domains that should be "Premium" are listed on sites such as greatdomains.com and state that the anual renewal fee is only $50. Most similar names claim to be $300 - $10,000 per year to renew?

I'm assuming the $39 / year listed at godaddy is for non-premium, so how do these premium names have only $50 renewal fees? What is your general opinion of .tv domains? Are the premium names worth it?

I believe the .tv registry (www.tv) and GreatDomains.com are owned by the same mother company VeriSign, Inc.

This is why they can change the rules with regards to renewal fees.

If you purchase your .tv's through GoDaddy.com, you are most likely purchasing a domain that is not considered to be a premium name by the .tv registry.

I was able to purchase Lyrics.tv through GoDaddy.com last year.

I hope that this helps!
