Twitter accounts hacked?

I know many people have their accounts hacked & don't even realize it. Hackers get into their accounts & send out DMs (many people don't check their DMs). Of course it usually is a result from people clicking on spam DMs in the 1st place. I get a spam DM (generally from hacked accounts) on Twitter literally every 5-10 minutes many days. MY DM inbox is worthless there & I no longer can use it. All legitimate DMs are also overlooked because of this problem which is not a good thing.
