two websites - same host?

I have an idea to develop two domains - two separate websites. Is there a way to point both names to my current host?

IOW, I have plenty of bandwidth/storage with my current host. I would like to develop two websites. Do I have to get another hosting account?

Are you administering your own server?

If so, then you can do this via the "Virtual Host" directive in httpd.conf.

Or you can point one domain at a subdomain of your original domain with hosting, if you have mega bandwidth.

OK, Don't flame but I use MS Frontpage 2003. Save your file and publish it, what name you save it to will be the domain.com/saved.htm Then you redirect the domain to domain.com/saved.htm

Just to get it straight in my mind....

Let's say I have domain1 .... I also have domain2

domain1 has a host and is available on the web. I want to use that hosting acct to also host domain2.

I could save my 2nd site (domain2) as domain1.com/domain2.htm. Then I would just forward or point my 2nd domain name to domain1.com/domain2.htm.

Is that correct?

I imagine I could also point a 3rd domain name to domain1.com/domain3.htm.

Correct?

Somehow when I payed for platinum membership I got platinum but it didn't subtract my "DNF $" So I banked them, thought it was a promo or something. Then today they took my platinum away. I wish someone would PM me and tell me why I expirenced this odd but lucky error...

Anyway, setting redirects isn't the best way to make multiple domains. If you just want space, and don't mind your URLS all having domain1 in them, that way is fine.

If you want to host individual domains on your one account, which gives each domain more of a seperate and more professional feel, you should go to a host that lets you use multiple domains.

Exactly. You can usually add a domain for $1/month extra, that uses the same resources.
