Tynwald.com

Tynwald is the name of the Isle of Man Parliament, which has been going for over 1000 years and is the oldest Parliament in the world in continuous existence.

The Isle of Man is a Crown Dependency of the UK and the Tynwald was established by the Norsemen in the 800's AD - they ruled the island for 450 years before ceding it to the King of Scotland in 1266. In 1765 the island came under the control of the British Crown.

Tynwald Day is 5 July, when the Tynwald meets outdoors.

Any thoughts on appraisal?

Many thanks.

$10

A domain about the TT race would be better

Interesting name, thanks for the information.
It's a difficult one to appraise in my opinion as it is very specific, governmental and the area (IOM) has it's own tld. For that reason you would expect everything to do with the name to be connected to the .im or a .gov tld. However that is not the case, there seems to be Tynwald Music, a museum etc so it seems that there is scope for finding a buyer who may have a need for the name.

However I think the scope is limited and I don't think it's going to be a "big" name, it'll probably be sold (or kept) for interest value or for a small possibly tourist-related site.

Of course we should not rule out the fact that someone else may feel that they have the right to it, which would also affect its value.

I'm not going to suggest a $ value because I think it is one of those names that could "fly" or fail - of course the views are just my personal opinion based on limited research information.

To the average reseller its a reg fee. However to the right person who knows.

Thanks to everyone for their comments.
