Personally I had a situation like this happen to me on another site with a domain owner who wasted 2 weeks of my time only to weasel out in the end (after reaching an agreement in writing) so I have no sympathy whatsoever for sellers who pull BS games like this. I say throw 'em to the wolves.

IMO I think people like this hurt the integrity of DNForums. If this same thread had occured on Sedo or some other site it would have been legally binding and the buyer would have recourse, as he rightfully should. What makes DNForums different?

This guy is quite suspicoius to me from his behaviour.
For example look at his signature: "Open for offers: Vampire.net"
But vampire.net belongs to ultsearch as it is using ultsearch's DNS.

Probably adding a field "how many days you will require after SOLD is posted to transfer name" might help in your particular situation.

Had pretty much the same thing happen to me just recently except I was selling and after 2 weeks the buyer backed out because of misreading my thread.

You just don't back out of your sales or when you agree to buy something!

Seems like classy behaviour. A true pioneer, to usher in a new era on DNForum.

Er, or maybe BANNATRON.

Imo this usually happens when people put their names on sale without much thought and then they realise maybe they are asking too little for their domain.

Anyhow this is totally unprofessional, a Ban is definately in order here

Well, since this idea belongs to me I will do it myself. Hopefully he will listen to it.

Basically if there will be an "ON HOLD" feature for a thread. So as soon as someones post SOLD. Thread is temporarily closed from comments until buyer aproves it or not.

This way there will be no comments after SOLD is posted in fixed price sales and sales with BIN. Probably it can be even done in engine. Adding a BUYOUT feature in the thread with folowing functionality.

Nice idea but hows the post sale PMs going to stop. There always will be people offering more than BIN after auction ends.

You didn't get it. If the name is SOLD(using fixed price buyout) - then the topic is on hold(similar to closed) for amount of time(2-3 days? to be sure deal has gone through).

Then if it is sold it will be closed or reopened if deal didn't go through.

This will keep us all from abuse in the topic after deal has already been anounced.

well, looks like I have been bitten by the SWEdomains non payment virus.
Buyer agreed to buy mtk.net and posted sold in the thread 3 days ago, is now ignoring me on msn and hasn't logged back in here since.

Yeah, this seem to be an epidemic. I never knew that a sale could be canceled over what the buyer perceives to be a bad attitude.
