UMX.COM was recently dropped by the owner, and surprisingly it was caught by a lucky domainer....

Nice catch!

Domain Name: umx.com

Registrar: FENOMINAL INC.
Whois Server: whois.fenominal.com
Referral URL: http://www.fenominal.com

Expiration Date: 2009-04-23
Creation Date: 2008-04-23
Last Update Date: 2008-04-23

It really can't just be dropped - as it will go onto the same process all expired domains do (am I wrong?)

The creation date looks like it was caught by a bot because of timing:

23 Apr 2008 00:00:00

I think there's more going on about it than we know.

where have you people been - it was at nj auction and ended at $7,350

There we go..much more of a reasonable explanation. $7,350...sounds like the new minimum wholesale for May.

you guys are funny lol :smokin:

That was cheap. Unless the owner of a LLL .com lived in isolation in Korea for the past 10 years, it's tough to get a LLL .com under $8,250

I have seen several like this one the past few weeks. CWI.com was another odd one... It was dropped and grabbed by Pool. It sold for 15K. I am not sure if it was paid for, since it's still on Pool's DNS, but the IP location shows Marchex Inc.

If I can remember correctly, the whois showed an expire date of 2010, but the domain was Pending Delete and did drop on the 17th of last month.

Several that I have been watching go to On Hold (Generic) then some at some point just jump to Pending Delete? Not sure how that works.

For example... http://whois.domaintools.com/oni.com it just has not went pending delete.... but it's been On Hold for at least a week or more.

Nothing beats the drop and capture of WWF.com :D

I just wonder who actually drops LLL.com domains... people who have no clue, or did somebody die?

That, and people forget, businesses go out of business, change email address and I'm sure other things as well.

IMO, most NameJet sales are "fair reseller/investor" prices rather than "minimum wholesale".

Alot of people drop great names all the time

when will icann stop allowing registrars and pool to get 1st dibs on domains dropeed from their registrars - not right imo

There is a LLL.com name on Ebay right now for $6999.00. Guy sold one earlier for the same price. Overseas seller.
