hello and thanks for reading..
i have over 70 .co.uk and over 30 .com domains
all begin with fixmy
eg.fixmyheating.co.uk fixmyexhaust.co.uk fixmyroof.co.uk fixmytyres.co.uk
the homepage is fixmy.co.uk (there's a terrible attempt at web design there )
I would like an appraisal for all as a package please..
I had a sale on one particular .com domain that made the top 10 on dnjournal
http://www.dnjournal.com/archive/domainsales/domainsales05_11_04.htm
I appreciate this is a difficult task
also where would best place to sell multiple domains as a group
thanks if you help
john

Hi John,

Congratulations on your recent sale, very nice :-)

Could you possibly list the domains here, it’s difficult to give an accurate appraisal without seeing the actual names.

As for listing your domains for sale I’d recommend listing them individually at Sedo.com (and possibly listing all of your ‘FixMy’ domain in the description area for each domain). I think it is unlikely that your domains will sell as a package (at least not to an end user). I think you would do better by selling the odd domain, every now and then for a decent price rather than selling them cheaply as a package.

Domain names are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them, although some domain sales shock the hell out of me..

I agree that you would be better selling them seperate unless you found a company that contracted out services equal to your domain names, and then to them they would be worth at least $200 each.. IMHO

They are a good collection, but difficult to market unless you knew your target audience well and you had a platform in which to advertise to that market, in my experience with domains like these you have to find the client and pitch them on the marketable value.

Hope that helps

One of the difficult things I have found with generic UK domains is the high cost of transfer puts people off and makes them look a bit harder unless it is "exactly" what they want. immaterial on a high cost domain but at £35 a time for lower value it is a big detterent.

I agree totally with that.. of course if you are transferring 3 or more from the same person its a one off cost of £75...

However I have had a very heated discussion with the Lesley Cowley Chief Executive of nominet on this very issue, it even got to the point of there lawyers contacting me

The end result was that the price will be coming down and legal domain ownership transfers will be available soon online for a modest charge...

Good News I guess... lets wait and see eh!

As an active member of Nominet I would question this, Lesley will not and cannot declare Nominet policy. The pricing is always under review as declared on the site but it is an "at cost" policy so it can't suddenly drop.

Not sure where the £75 comes from? There is a limit to the charges for multiple registrations (3+) as long as the seller details and recipient details are the same along with a host of other conditions, this charge totals £60 + VAT details can be found here http://www.nic.uk/MakingChangesToYourDomainName/Transfer/MassTransfers/MassTransfers.html

not to be pedantic but the price is £70.50 inclusive, I quoted a rounded figure as I did not have the exact to hand..

as for the current price that is based on current process, and as I stated that the process is changing and the price will reduce bearing those changes in mind.

OK sorry about that I am VAT registered so always look at prices without VAT.

Processes are changing however I am unaware of any change being planned for the legal transfer of registrants as Nominet has very entrenched views on this.

Anyway sorry to the OP for waylaying his orginal post
