Bulk Search Mode is now being rolled out for SLD Checker

You can now search up to 50 keywords at once and get results for all provided keywords in a single run, making large-scale searches much faster and easier.

The feature is currently available at:
https://sld.dnforum.com/

It will also be available at:
https://www.dnforum.com/sld

within the next 24 hours as deployment and final integration are still in progress

Feedback is always welcome

Nice!! Just tested it at https://sld.dnforum.com/ with 8 random keywords (it seems https://www.dnforum.com/sld doesn't have it enabled yet), works as a charm!!

Hello everyone,

Last week I worked on a new ccTLD discovery feature for the SLD Checker, and it has now been implemented.

The SLD Checker currently supports only a limited number of ccTLDs, so this new system will help us gradually expand coverage and show domain status information for more country-code extensions.

We have started with German domains first. The discovery process is now running in the background, and the results will begin appearing in the SLD Checker once the data has been processed.

This is an ongoing improvement, and more ccTLDs will be added step by step.

Also let me know which ccTLDs you would like to explore next. Your suggestions will help decide which extensions to add in the upcoming discovery runs.

Hello Everyone ,

I've just pushed an update to the SLD Checker's rate limit mechanism!

What changed?
The previous rate limit wasn't working as expected, which allowed unlimited searches and could affect application performance.

How does it work now?
The new system is designed to be explorer-friendly:
- You can still search as much as you want within normal usage
- If you go beyond the limit, you'll get a short timeout before being able to search again
- Once the timeout period passes, you're good to go!

This ensures everyone gets a smooth, reliable experience without putting unnecessary load on the application.

Just a heads up that SLD Checker will be inactive until next announcement.

Over time the database has accumulated a large amount of unnecessary data that is taking up space and affecting performance. I am doing a cleanup to remove it and get things running leaner. Out of roughly 975 million rows in the database, around 676 million need to be cleared out.

Sorry for the inconvenience! I should have caught this earlier and I will make sure to have a proper cleanup process in place so this does not happen again.

Will post an update here once everything is back up.

@birajst - maybe it would be great to put a notification bar above the search bar on the SLD Checker tool page > under maintenance? Thank you for continuing to improve it. .. I think your attempt to create a .de zone file is a very cool idea

@Helmuts, sorry about that, bad timing on my end! Love the maintenance banner idea, I will keep that in mind for next time.

And yeah the .de zone file thing is something I am genuinely excited about, fingers crossed it works out! Will keep you posted.

Hey Everyone

SLD Checker is back online! Here is a quick summary of what is working and what is not right now:

Bulk search is temporarily down, so please use normal search for the time being. I am aware of it and will get it fixed as soon as possible.

ccTLD discovery is also temporarily disabled and will be back once bulk search is up and running.

One more thing worth mentioning, .de domain data has been removed from the database as part of the cleanup. So if you search and get a .de extension in the results, it may not be accurate for now.
