I just bought this yesterday and was wondering what it would be worth. I plan to develop it, but would still like to know the value in case I ever get any offers on the name.

I think it is one of the BEST .BIZ names available. "URL" has about 46 million search results in Google and 153,281 searches in Overture last month just for "URL" alone. Also URL is only available in 4 extensions (.COM, .NET, .ORG and .BIZ) as URL.US and URL.INFO are both reserved by their respective registries. This in my opinion makes it quite rare (1 in 4 of this name in all gTLDs).

Your thoughts on value and possible uses? Thanks in advance for your ideas.

Adam

I'm impressed woeger..

Afraid it's too hard to place a price on though.

I still like .biz , Funny that some seem to think that .biz is "lagging" when in fact it's registrations are just as strong as .info's..

Well I think the name is so unique and could be used for so many different products and services.

Your ideas (and valuations are appreciated). Also the .BIZ states that I am "open for business" and selling these products and services, adding to the value of this URL :) I believe. This is the exact opposite of .ORG which causes many people to think "non-profit" or a "non-commercial" site.

I think a tell-tale sign of a good name is if it sums up an entire industry in one word (i.e www.show.biz). www.url.biz pretty much sums up the entire domain industry.

Not sure what "price tag" to put on this name, but you can bet that it's worth more than "a few hundred" as some might suggest.

50 - $75, maybe $100 retail.

edit: A (3) letter .org with even crappy combonations can fetch prices higher than that. These .biz appraisals are becoming a joke!

Google Hits: 43,500,000
Overture Hits: 153,281
$300-$1350+

cheers!

Thanks for the various appraisals to everyone who responded. I appreciate them plus suggestions for possible use(s) of the domain.

how much did you pay for it? that is probably the most accurate appraisal you'll get.

10k today, there is probably somebody contacting you already, the sky is the limit in the future.

These Afternic style appraisals should not be given room here but then that's what you get in a democracy.

Not quite $10k right now. A more objective estimate for a nice 3-letter .biz would be $750 - $1,500

I think the acronym URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is working it's way into everyday language as a word (pronounced 'Earl'). I know it's anecdotal evidence but, for example, I 've asked and have been asked by many different people the question "What is the url of this or that company or website?"....In other words, instead of saying "What is the U, R, L?", the public is saying in speech "What is the url (pronounced Earl... Hey, it rolls right off the tongue, right? Or, you can just grunt it out. It's a perfect fit for American lexicon)...What I am trying to say here is we are witnessing the creation of a new word (url), born of the internet age... On a side note, one could say we are living in the 'url age' as opposed to the 'ice age.' ... So, what better business could there be to be in than the url business @url.biz?

url.biz...Whether it's an acronym or a new 3 letter word, it certainly is a solid .biz url!

$1,500 USD value to a serious enduser who, ironically, would be a domain reseller/ registration service, etc...

A very nice 3-letter .biz! I think it will take at least a couple of years to really know what potential and strength the .biz extension will have. Regardless, I don't see the value of the domain decline as we progress - rather the opposite.

Good luck!

I agree, it will take time for businesses to brand their ".biz". Two years sounds about right. Url.biz has a heads up on the rest of us as his URL.biz makes a very compelling brand. That is the strength of certain .biz names.

Amazing name! :)

around $ 1000 or more I would say...
