See, the problem was that I didn't go digging for dirt. Someone started a thread that looked very convincing of an ongoing crime. In fact, I had my doubts because I was bound to the amount of trust that Patty had earned from me in the course of the past few months. Once the first links to fraud cases started being posted, it was easier to see the real picture. The real issue now is preventing Patty from getting yet another alias to repeat this feat all over again. She never owns any domains for more than a few months, goes undercover and lets them expire. By the way, it's easy and cheap to get copies of the cases in Seattle that explain in full what she was arrested for. I'm sure that unless she contacts the persons she defrauded, including returning Alex's $5,000+ then she's bound to spend some long jail time for that case alone. Lastly, I see definite elements of psychotic behavior which stem from lack of accomplishments in real life. She might be a fun person to hang out with and shoot the sh!t - just make sure you hod onto your wallet.

It is unfortunate that there was no redemption for the people who lost their money. The only consolation that she is gone - albeit temporarily. I dont know if its possible, but is there any way to stop her from coming back, making a new username and schmoozing people again?

In any online transaction, people should know who they are dealing with before sending money. Even I have had many transactions here where poeple still insist on using escrow and I do not get insulted, only guilty people balk at that.

I would also suggest nobody ever pays money in advance to get your names brokered unless it's with a big company within the industry like Sedo, Moniker, Go Daddy and so on.

As people get more desperate due to the financial crisis or deceit, these things will continue to happen.

I was just a character there. Never was out to scam people. It was a business deal that went wrong. yeah I made mistakes and you can stand on your glory that you have never done anything wrong but you know what? I have made choices that have rendered the consequences that I have.

i had suspected the bs some time ago and tipped Admin's to keep eye open,

once the OP was ready to come forward with factual info, then we knew others who had been ripped would step forward.

members are hesitant though to post these types of issues.

they wonder how other members will take such news when it about a member that many of you befriended.

to some, you guys and gals can be intimidating, especially when ya'll all round up together, cosigning each others quotes.

Yes, at least one member here from Seattle met with her over beers. Can't find the thread. He later on came to mention that the domains he paid Patty for were given to him weeks after he had paid, without any content as it was part of the promised deal.
