Utopia.org appraisal please.

When you think about it, Utopia itself could never be a dot com, so a dot org is the right place to find it.

The problem I have had with contemplating selling it, is what its likely use may be. There aren't really any significant businesses called Utopia, so no obvious existing targets.

I keep coming back to the same idea; maybe it's best suited to a porn site.

Never been used, was registered in 1997 for a project that never happened.

What do you think it is worth?

I am glad you think so. I haven't the first clue about porn sites and would see it as a tragic waste of a really nice domain. I'll have a think about the community idea.

Best use would be a NGO (Good cause) site.

Thanks for the feedback. This kind of confirmed my thinking about the site. i.e. there is no obvious commercial target or exploitation of the domain, so better to create some intellectual property around it, so that it can acquire some value.

I don't see a great deal of value in something too academic, but maybe we go a bit more mainstream covering everything from the perfect holday to the perfect hangover cure. The opportunities for commercialising the traffic then become more obvious.
