In general, what is the value of a 3 letter domain (assuming no immediate, well-defined letter combination or apparent purpose)?

.com?
.net?
.org?
.info?
.biz?

Thanks for any input..

.us .biz $15 and up
.info $30 and up
.org $50 and up
.net $100 and up
.com $400 and up

It is not unusual to see three letter .coms go around $1.5K-$3K.

Regards,

NW

Think tihe 3 letter .US will rise?

Why do you have some 3 letter domains?

Jolthost and NW- thanks for the input!

:ok: Sorry.. everyone else, too. Didn't mean to leave anyone out.

I'm sorry to ask this but I haven't been able to find a modestly reasonable answer and it is somewhat applicable to this topic:

what about 2 letter/ 1 number combos? like br4.com/.net/.org, etc.

I'm also a newbie to the domain name game and was somewhat curious as you tend to see quite a few, if not most 2/1 combos in the .com domain already taken. Are they of any real value? Or is it more limited to just 3 letter combinations. I know it sounds silly, but after poking around a bit, it seems they may be of some value?

Part of the reason I ask is that I happened to come across the article on DNJournal regarding China and more popular domain name conventions they use there.

Just like you described it:
.com - 3letter domains are most valuable (more than 500$)
.net
.org
.info
.biz - 3letter domains are least valuable (up to 100$)

3 letter .co.uk's have reached top ends of £10k+ and usual decent letters to end users are about £3-5k.

internal industry sales are anything from £300 - £2500 .

Cheers,
rob.

People in China like 3-NUMBER (NOT letter/number combo) domains mostly because English is a foreign language to them, and the IDN multilingual thingy is still infant, to say the least.
