What's the most effective way to verify that the person you're buying a domain from is the REAL owner? Have them fax you copies of their drivers license and passport?

If your receiving email from the email address on record, that should be verification enough, nobody with half a brain is going to send copies of their Passport or Drivers license to somebody they dont know.

If your buying the domain, protect yourself by using escrow.com.
