Okay guys, VeriSign's rapid DNS update goes live today
as their site says.

With that in mind, I'd like to ask you guys a favor.

When any of you do DNS changes to any domain name,
could you note when you did it and how soon it was
able to resolve to your intended destination? (i.e.
website, email, etc.).

Afterwards, note it here. That way, we'll be able to get
feedback how it REALLY is.

I've been testing today and don't see any sign of it yet. I changed name servers on one .com at 8:30 AM and three hours later the TLD zone servers are still returning the old information.

I am waiting for the fast updates so I can move a couple of important domains off of eNom's DNS servers (when you change name servers, eNom deletes the zone immediately from their servers, leaving you down until the TLD zone updates).

The rapid updates seem to be working as advertised today. I changed name servers on a .com domain at eNom, and in less than three minutes the new name servers were live on the .com zone servers.

woohoo

This is really great people.

My server went down recently and i've just bought a new server. I was thinking it'd be at least 2-3 days for everything to be back on.

I've just updated the new ips for the name servers i run.

And hey presto 5 mins later it was working.

Great stuff!
