I use Adobe Premier (3.0) - it's not bad but rather cumbersome. Sadly, though, I don't think I'm using it to its full potential either. :(

Just wanting to know the pluses and minuses of it.

I guess I will go with the Adobe Premiere Pro since I have so many other adobe products (like the creative suite).

Doc if you are doing video editing buy a Mac and use the industry standard Final Cut Pro. If it's just for fun Final Cut Express is good too and affordable.

A PC will not be able to handle it.

But if you cannot - Adobe suite will be your better bet. :eek:k:

Vegas is an easy to use program much like pinnacle, although if you want something a bit tastier with more bells and whistles, then Premier Pro is pretty much the best you can expect on a pc. It can't do everything but it can do a lot and has a raft of special effects. You can get separate tools to split / join video files like the programs from boilsoft.com. Conversions can be done with a lot of the imtoo ultimate tools. Shout if you need anything mate :)

Thanks Newt.

One of the features I liked was being able to go directly from camera to screen. I will be using primarily a DSLR (sony a55) that can shoot full 1080i HD. I opted for this at the moment since I have a slew of prime lenses for Sony/Minolta.

I already have the the Creative Suite so the Premiere Pro should come in pretty good to compliment the other suite.

I am well aware of Final Cut's attributes and what a powerful artistic, creative tool Mac is. Kind of hard to justify that purchase right now. But you better believe I looked at that 27" iMac model numerous times. With 3 desktops, 2 laptops, and one iPad in the house it would be awful hard to convince myself (and my wife) that I need another computer.
