Video on YouTube states Online Poker is a Cheat

There are a lot of videos out there that are like this. Just because someone makes a video doesn't make it true. Do I believe that online poker sites are 100% legit? No I don't however its hard to prove what exactly they are doing and how they do it.

The video basically states that online poker is unfair because the tournaments have a time limit. I guess the only way that the maker of the video would be happy is if poker tournaments were indefinite. Live tournaments have blind structures and an end as well. There is nothing unfair about a tournament having an end.
Also, as far as I know, most of the online cardrooms don't use a system clock to seed their random number generator.
Now there are plenty of bad marks in poker where the game WAS rigged... from the beginnings when PlanetPoker's random number generator got hacked so that the holecards could be seen to the most recent big scandal in online poker, the Potripper scandal on Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker, where some of the internal employees rigged some hack to see the player's holecards. There are countless cases of players trying to cheat other players. But as far as online poker being rigged because of a time limit... well, the guy who made this video is a bitter loser.
The fact is that online poker is very hard to beat because of the rake that the online cardrooms charge. As a result of the tournament fees and the rake taken from every hand played in the cash games, only about 25% of players are going to be break-even and a much smaller percentage are going to be making enough to call it a living. But I'm one of those latter players and poker has funded my domaining, not the other way around. You can go check on sites like OfficialPokerRankings.com and see thousands of examples of really solid players who are able to maintain a positive ROI over thousands of online tournaments. It's a skill game... and the video was bs.

Online gamblong should be regulated - and currently its not. Who care's if others are making money, what about the rest of millions of people who are in debt? This entire online casino has ruined families. You no longer ruin your life by driving to the casino, you now use your credit card and bank accounts to kill yourself. The entire system should be banned from internet. Who ever created the video obviously had a bad run, maybe right or not.

God I hate farmville... As far as poker being banned completely? Never gonna happen. Maybe on the internet but that will not stop people from playing. Its not technically the casinos fault because people have an addiction which is no different than drugs, porn, fast food, or whatever else that consumes them.

No its not really easy for me to say. I have spent more on poker than I should have at times and again it doesn't matter where the poker is if the addiction is bad enough they will find a place to play. Whether its online, at a casino, home games, local bar or whatever. An addiction is just that an addiction and they will do whatever it takes to fill that void.

you are so lost that you've confused yourself between addiction and theft - honest and hardworking people are being cheated and put in more debt, and you call that addiction? Online Casino is another form of Terrorism on the people!!!!

Based on the above, I am not watching the video. But I have it on a tab; nice music.
If poker has some issues, then make a webpage or blog and talk about it. You will educate people
and you might get some adsense clicks.
Funny thing, the video started out with an advertisement, at the bottom of the video window, for a poker site.

Why don't we ban sex and alcohol while we are at it, because of their addiction potential. I haven't watched the video but so many noobs claim online poker is rigged. The truth is they just suck at poker.

Terrorism Financing Linked to Online Gambling
It is common knowledge that the UIGEA was initially passed along with the Safe Ports Act and was meant to prevent terrorists transferring funds using online casinos. Till now there was no specific instance of this happening that had been cited in the public domain. However, at the recent "Cybercrime in Betting and Gaming" conference in London it was revealed that security services are conducting 23 current investigations in which it is possible that terrorist organizations have used online gambling channels to transfer funds. This information was revealed by The Register.
Apparently these leads have come from the conviction of one Tariq al-Daour, who is regarded as the "godfather of cyber-terrorism for al-Qaeda". Al -Daour and two of his associates, Waseem Mughal and Younes Tsouli, were convicted of inciting murder through website exhortations two years ago. The three men allegedly used Windows based Trojans to steal credit card numbers. They then laundered the cash using online gambling sites. The three men are serving sentences totaling 38 years between them. There are also reports that Al-Daour had the effrontery to access online gambling sites from Belmarsh prison. He was even caught developing a website that urged terror attacks. His refusal to surrender his laptop led to clash between prison officials and a group of al-Qaeda sympathizers. Investigations also revealed that the three convicted men were listed as clients on a credit card companyâs database. On the same database there were 17 others names whose date of birth, nationality and first name matched the convicted three. The trio had 190 pre-paid credit cards still in circulation with balances of â¤10,000 on each card. Al-Daour and his accomplices made over $3.5 million in fraudulent charges using credit card accounts stolen via online phishing scams and the distribution of Trojans. They carried out 350 transactions at 43 different online gambling sites using more than 130 compromised credit cards.
This information was revealed by Robert Mitchell, director of World Check, at the Cybercrime conference. He cautioned that the investigations underway could be mush more serious because they involved transnational groups spanning countries like Denmark, Sweden, the Baltic regions, Vietnam and China. Mitchell said that these countries are at greater risk and the volume of currency involved is staggering. Information from World Check should be pretty reliable. It is a private intelligence company that assists 49 of the worldâs top 50 banks and 200 enforcement and regulatory agencies by sharing its database of known âheightened-risk individuals and businessesâ with them.
No doubt this information will be ammunition to those opposing the legalization of online gambling in the United States and more will be heard of this in the future.

And really what is this supposed to point out?
Terrorists use various methods to get money where it needs to be by using any fraud scams necessary. That does not limit it to online gaming. If you actually google Terrorism funding you will find tons of things linked to it porn, fake adoptions, drugs, food production, non profit or charities and tons of other off the wall stuff.
Someone who is in a country that thinks terrorism is right and promotes it various ways can't even be compared to normal people anyways since they are mentally insane.
The point is terrorists may use online gambling to gather money they need but to flat out say that anyone who plays poker is funding terrorists is just ridiculous.
