Villas.com just sold at SEDO for 305,000 EUR

Congratulations to both the buyer and the seller - I think it's an incredible buy and very encouraging as the 2nd huge "housing sale" of the week, following property.com. "Villas" is a huge CPC hit and can potentially make somebody a multimillion dollar business.

Keep them coming :)

dnf member as always lol
congrats bro
beers are on you

A bargain.
If Rick Schwartz own Villas.com don't let it go for less than 3 millions.

Price within my expectations :)
Congrats Steve !

Thanks.

Plowed through the Moët, now on to the Veuve.

I'm sure the new buyer will have a great time with my baby and I wish him all the very best, great fortune and good karma.

Steve

Guess now I'm gonna have to change my email address. Now, after 12 years you have no idea how big of a drag that's gonna be.

overpriced buy?

no
remember europe is a huge market

i speak only for UK here but as examples these terms:

property, villas, repossessions HUGE terms

real estate, condos, foreclosures Little or no meaning

(btw i realise condos and villas are completely different lol, but used as example)

granted U.S market is biggest market generally speaking for most things, especially net based but trust me the european market is huge, in the right hands this can make someone a lot of dough. i think price was in middle of what seller could expect, fact it's come at a time when 'corn' ;) is hard to come by, i think doubly good.

congrats again steve

edit: if you check steve's location too in Marbella, if you take a little drive around there you'll see what this name is all about, plus thousands of other places in europe

Thanks, Adam....

Means a lot coming from you.

And thanks to all of you for your PM's and public comments. I am overwhelmed and honored.

The buyer realises how important the generic "villas" is as a truly global Internet brand. They will do very well, and they do it with my blessings.

Time for me to close this chapter of my book, and move on to my next project.

Guess, I can now afford an Exclusive Membership, ¿no?

Congratulations on your sale,

and wish you many, many more :)

I live on the south coast of Spain, and when you talk about the rental and real estate markets here the possibilities are endless. The market has slowed in the last couple or three years just like everywhere else, but people still take vacations and are still looking for vacation and retirement homes. The commissions are huge.

I'm just talking about this small part of Spain, there's still the rest of the Med, and the rest of Europe, South America, Africa, and everywhere else.

I would give a kidney to own villas.com. I think it went for a fair price but it could easily be worth a whole lot more.

Congrats to both the seller and the buyer! I wish I was playing in your league.

Nah. I've had a hell of a good ride, remember, I got this one back when domains were "URL, er, what's that?" and I got it to protect my brand.

But that's just me, I believe it's quintessentially important to protect one's brand at all costs. Read my other stuff.

G-Man.... thanks for that.

Again, you folks are too kind. What can I say?

IN RE Kidneys: PM me, I may need one.

Let's wish good luck to the new owners. They'd better do right by a fabulous brand.

And perhaps we should wait until they close? OK, I've already got a sore head, but I have it on good authority that this isn't a problem.

Yes indeed. Practically every vacation destination (in the southern hemisphere, anyways) offers villa rentals as an alternative to upscale hotels. Kind of like cottage rentals up here in Canada ;) but better :).

Time for me to close this chapter of my book, and move on to my next project.

Any hints on the new project??

Just an echo of the above comments: Congrats!

Nice one Steve, i wasn't far behind you, had Revolves.com for 5k on Great Domains that day too, i was only like several hundred k behind you! lol
