Yes, the "v" prefix isn't great, but it's a big keyword, and the v is easily incorporated into the "M" visually (see simple logo here):

V also stands for virtual or visitor or vacation so I would say the name would fit for a motel directory/finder.
IMO you could fetch low $$$$ but developing would be better yet. You are right about the V prefix being not so great but you can brand around it and turn it to your advantage.
