This is not a claim that DNForum captures every sale in the global domain market. It does not. This is a practical and growing public record of sales reported by marketplaces, members and market-data sources.

What the 76,000+ figure means
We recently reviewed the category more carefully because a thread count alone is not useful enough.
A single thread can report one domain sale, but it can also contain a daily marketplace report, a portfolio roundup or a table of many named sales. Counting threads would understate the actual number of reported domains.
The updated figure (this morning) is based on individually identifiable sale reports:
- 68,721 named domain-sale rows published in NameBio report tables
- 3,313 individually reported DomainLore.uk sales
- 1,931 individually reported Nameshift sales
- 1,631 individually reported Sedo sales
- 711 individually reported Fruits.co sales
- At least 149 additional legacy and member sale-report threads, counted conservatively as one sale each
That gives DNForum a conservative total of at least 76,456 individually reported domain sales.
For public communication, we are using the simpler and safer milestone:
76,000+ individually reported domain sales.
To keep the milestone credible, we count the named sale rows that members can actually see and research, rather than presenting the larger aggregate market-activity figure as if every name were individually published in the forum.
Accuracy matters more than a bigger headline.

This makes it easier to focus on a particular venue or type of report without manually searching through the entire category.

Important limitations
The 76,000+ figure should be understood responsibly.
Not every completed sale is reported to DNForum. Some large sales remain confidential. Some private deals are never disclosed. Some marketplaces do not publish all transactions. Some reported records may also overlap across different sources.
We have also excluded Crunch.id reports from this milestone because its content is structured differently and should not be presented as completed domain-sale reporting.
The count is therefore a transparent record of individually reported sales, not a claim to represent the entire global domain market or a deduplicated database of every transaction.

An invitation to marketplaces, brokers, registrars and registries
DNForum welcomes marketplaces, brokers, registrars and registries that want to share completed sales with the domain community.
A useful report should ideally include:
- The domain name
- Confirmed sale price
- Sale venue or source
- Date or reporting period
- Any relevant context, where it can be shared publicly
Reports can be published manually or supplied through structured feeds, spreadsheets, exports or other practical reporting methods.
The goal is simple: make more credible domain-market information available to people who actually work in the industry.

Useful data for people and AI tools
The section is also valuable for responsible research.
Investors can study patterns. Brokers can research comparable sales. Developers can investigate market demand. Analysts can identify trends. AI agents, researchers and LLM builders can analyse publicly available posts responsibly, subject to source rights and DNForum terms.
More than 76,000 individually reported sales is an important milestone, but it is also a foundation. We want the Sold Domains section to keep becoming more useful, more transparent and easier to research for the entire domain community.
