I would like to get a forum started for a particular product I'm going to be selling. Just would like your input as to which is the best board to have, who is a good ISP to host the forum and what costs are involved.

I will give $900 DNF to the first person who posts with a qualified response!!!

Many hosting packages provide CPanel with add-on scripts including Invision and phpbb. I use phpbb and it virtually self-installed via CPanel, was simple to upgrade and modify. It has an excellent support forum and of course is free.
If you need a recommendation for a CPanel provider with the scripts feel free to pm me.

If you want the best then you have to stick with vBulletin. You do notice that the 3 major domain forums all use it. I run it on a site I am developing and it was easy to install and is very stable. Easy to hack for addons as well. I would suggest stay away from cpanel type hosts from what I have read there are more security holes then you want to deal with. Just my 2cents.

Well if you want to test the water a little before spending your hard earned bucks you could try www.FreeIB.com which offers automated forum creation (Invision Board, FREE) and bannerless hosting (FREE). So all in all it will not cost you a penny.

Cheers
Rob
