Since there was a recent post re: Wanted.com, just wondering what you guys think Wanteds.com is worth.

Thanks.

Andy, I hope you didn't just drop $50K with hopes of reselling on Ebay for $100K...

I'd say low xxx I mean it can always be hacked for Help.Wanteds.com but even that sounds "yucky"

Yucky? Boy, you guys are harsh. I know it's not Wanted.com, but there are 257,000 Google search results for Wanteds.com.

I do own the name (have had it for about seven years). I'm just curious if it has any significant market value and/or if it would be worth developing.

Thanks.

I don't think it's all that bad, I hear people saying things like "look in the wanteds", as to the value, obviously no where near wanted.com but I'd say it's worth at least low to mid xxx

 where did you see that 257K figure? i only found 70!! google doesn't like me maybe?
google said:
about 70 for wanteds.com
well, i didn't say it's worthless. It's just can't compare to wanted.com.
It still has some 3-figure value i guess.

I mean its not a crappy name by no means. You'd just have to develop it. The 257,000 google results are from phrases like "the wanteds" or possesive to help i.e "Help Wanteds". I say develop it as it definitely can be and should be branded.

I just spoke with my girlfriend. She is an office manager of a classified newspaper. She says the term "Wanteds" is very common. "Wanteds" are ads for items people are looking to buy.
Compared to "Want Ads" which are ads people are placing to sell something.
She, who knows nothing about domains, says it is worth alot.
She says it may be better than "WantAds.com" due to its direct meaning.

It's not a word. Unless you're saying wanted s or want eds. Not much value in those names. If wanted.com was some super site it would be a good typo for it.

Man... I believe it's worth a lot more than people are saying here. It's part of everyday vernacular for a lot of people. I'd develop it.

Tricky one to appraise IMO. At first I thought "why"? :) Now I've read the thread, the Classifieds link makes me think that in fact there is a potential market, but I'd be inclined to agree that it's worth developing into a website maybe with a subdomain: http://classifieds.wanteds.com - that said, quite how anyone would monetise it...

Personally I'd say low $x,xxx if you could find an end-user, less to a reseller, but it's a niche market and probably take time to sell for that...IMO.

Man, this is one of those "needs defining" domains. By this I mean, you may or may not get a good end-user price if you do not develop. The chances drastically go up as you create a "vision" for end-users by creating a site on, what else but....Wanted ads. It would be worth the time I'm sure.

Effectively done could dramatically raise the value of this domain. I like the name a lot!
