Fellow DNF members, please beware of the member MIHOLDEM

I have sold a domain name to him for $610, he paid by paypal, I pushed the domain name, then he filed a claim of unauthorised payment. The payment is holding by paypal at the moment. I am emailing paypal and godaddy.

I tried to show my trust and respect to this NEW DNF member, but he does let me down. Another DNF member also sold 2 domains to him and facing the loss.

I noticed MIHOLDEM also shown interests to other domains in forum, so please beware of this guy.

MIHOLDEM's details:

His Godaddy info:

Adam needs to freeze the creation of all new registrations and enforce authentication methods for all new applicants.

Thanks, Emil.

Thanks, mate, I don't think that works if he intended to scam.

This MIHOLDEM is online and viewing this thread. I have also sent him a pm regarding this issue, but no reply.

Hopefully there is no more members scammed by MIHOLDEM. I'm really sorry that I left the positive feedback for him too quick, which may mislead other DNF members' judgment.

I hope you'll get your domain back. I'm sure Adam will sort it out if it's at GoDaddy. Good luck and thanks for keeping us from doing biz with yet another scammer.

Guys ... why the hell hasn't he been banned?

I've just sold him a $500 name and exactly the same thing happened.

In this case hes got hold of another PayPal account:

Buyer's Name: SophistiKits
Buyer's Email: [email protected]

Phone number on his new Whois goes back to Sri Lanka

I will keep bumping these threads.

All new registrations should be disabled until this mess is cleared!

Who is Adam at GoDaddy and how can he help with a situation like this?

Unfortunately, this type of behavior makes people lose trust in new members. As a new member, I have been trying to purchase a domain from a longtime member and I can't convince him to trust me despite providing excellent credentials and references from other forums. I even offered to wait for the PayPal payment to post to his bank account (usually 2-3 days) which eliminates the possibility of a chargeback.

If us new members can't purchase or buy domains and have no other options to gain positive rep, then what is the point of paying $60 to be a member of this forum? What are we to do?

The positive feedback actually convinced me to go through with the deal after I had some doubts :(

Its a shame no moderators are around and monitoring this board. Its seems we basically need to police the forums ourselves.

MIHOLDEM is trying to buy several other names. I've posted a warning on every thread that hes been on.

New members should not be paying via paypal. Just because a transaction clears the persons bank account does not mean you can't file a chargeback a month later.

If you want to do a transaction and you are a new member. Try using other services such as escrow.
