To me the idea of selling washing machines on the internet is pretty ridiculous, but i think you could probably get $1,500 or so from the right buyer.

I just thought that .nets do not go for 4 figure sums unless network servers.

It's really the opposite: you'd probably be looking at mid-4 to 5-figures for the .com. So at 10-20% of that for an end-user .net, the appraisals may be pretty accurate (here's hoping).

I believe for end-user sales (not reseller to reseller sales) that's probably about right. You might even get better than 20% of the .com price, especially for a "must-have" name in an industry with many competitors.

There therefore clearly seems to be a disconnect between end-user and reseller .net prices since on the reseller market .net names are considered essentially near-worthless.
