Actually i believe the term "web counter" is a generic name which can't be trademarked...and they don't have a trademark as of now. Someother company tried to trademark the term back in 1996 and the application was rejected/abandoned. I don't know much about trademark law, but I hope using the name for something related to webstats/SEO (like providing Google PR, Alexa rating data) won't be a problem.
