Due to many things happening with me just now - i have to sell webmasterads.com (im going travelling for a year in september and im sitting 3 financial exams in between so i dont have the time to work the extra hours to get more money
)
i will be the first to admit that $4000.00 is a lot of money for a site like this with respect to the number of members etc it has
I will do my best to explain my reason for this price and why i value it so highly (or lowly depending on how you look at it). Therefore, please do not post comments regarding to the price etc which will harm my chance of a sale etc if you are not actually interested in the site
About the site
The concept of the site is very very simple. In webmaster forums the most popular room is usually the offers/post an ad room. The site was designed with this concept in mind. The main rooms are the domains for sale, domains wanted, hosting requests, hosting offers, advertising space exchange, graphics exchange, websites wanted and websites for sale. In addition to this there is a new site announcements room, recipricol link request and a post your offer for room. I have tried to keep general webmaster discussion type rooms to an absolute minimum so that the site doesnt stray away from the orginal concept of the site.
Domain name - i bought the domain name from a reseller. I personally think that the domain is worth over 2k but obviously some people will not agree with this.
Over 1000 inbound links - Over 1000 inbound links on search engines. This can be checked at my buddy harry's site http://www.sitepopularity.org (uses same script as marketleap)
Owned VBulletin license full owned vb license which expires 11-20-2003
Logos & Banners Designed by aplusmedia - they can be seen at http://www.webmasterads.com/link2us.php. Nearly $200.00 spent on graphics.
Affiliate program - the site has two affiliate programs set up to promote it - both are at clixgalore.com - one is for us rates and the other is for uk rates. These accounts will be transferred to new owner.

Stats - My stats pages require passwords. Any potential buyers can have stats sent to them if they want stats proved. However the popularity of the site etc is better reflected by the number of members,posts etc on the site.
Advertising - Ive personally spent close to $1000.00 advertising the site to get it to this level. Anyone who has lauched a forum knows that this is needed at the start to get the site noticed.
With regards to the number of members - presently there are over 200 members. I know that this is very very low. Ive run forums before and know that the first 100 members are the hardest. Forums grow expnonentially and reaching 1000 members will take less time that the first 100 members took. I predict the site will reach this level in the next 4 months - sooner if the new owner actively posts. Its actually a credit to the site that the forum has so many members due to my lack of activity on the site to promote posts/threads etc. I work 6 days a week away from home and the site is blocked by the firewall at work so ive did little to promote it in that respect.
Who this site will interest/How the site makes money/How will make more money
im currently making money through selling the banner impressions at the top of the page. Currently this is set at $2.00 CPM to encourage advertisers - this will be rasied as the site grows and demand rises. Currently there are 2 advertisers - ive turned down 3 or 4 advertisers in the last month due as i want to wait til the impressions for the 2 current advertisers runs out. A lot of money can be generated this way (webhostingtalk sells impressions at $25 CPM) - once the site reaches 1000 members id reccomend raising the CPM to $5.00.
As well as the top banner these are other ways the site could generate money
* Bottom banner (CPM would be lower though)
* Text ads rotating (similar to the way http://www.tutorialforums.com advertises them)
* Payment to stick threads etc
The greatest potential money earner though is the possibilty to advertise other webmaster related sites which you own. A hosting company or domain registration site for example would greatly benefit with this (my domain regsitration has had over a dozen new accounts set up with very little banner exposure). The site is also a great way to get other sites listed on search engines. I started websitelane.com the other week and put up a link on the partners page - within 2 days there was an inbound link at fast and within 3 days google had spidered it.
This purchase is probably not suited to someone who has never run a big site/forum or who does not have many other webmaster related sites. Those with graphical design companies, domain registration sites, hosting sites or other forums will be much more suited. It would also obviously someone who has a domain reseller site and has hundreds of domains which they are selling.
hosting & transfer of site to new owner the site is hosted by http://www.todayshost.com . Its only $5.95 per month and has more than enough bandwidth for the moment. Ill ask if they can set up a seperate account and move the site to that (ill pay the expenses for one month). This will ensure the transfer is made smoothly.
If however you dont want to transfer it this way i will place all site files on my server plus make the new owner admin so that they can download the up to date database. Also - the new owner may leave it on my hosting account until everything is sorted.
Rest assured i will do everything i can to make it go through smoothly. I have sold forums before plus ive transferred forums several times between different hosts and it is relatively straight forward.

Shopping Directory Package - All names at enom
A simple link script would suffice for each of these sites to list shopping sites on the web. The site would grow quite easily as the first thing webmasters/owners of shopping sites do is submit to shopping directories and they would quickly find these sites due to the high ranking the domains will have on search engines for the term shopping directory.

Due to the large amount of money involved id rather pay with www.escrow.com . Owner will pay fees involved. I will consider other options however including wire transfer. Paypal doesnt offer enough security for both buyer and seller so im reluctant to use them for transactions of this amount.

My english team has always been man united but united only took 40,000 fans over for their european cup final - theres 100,000 of us going over!!!
Anyways, this means that i will not be able to complete any transaction until 2 weeks from now but i thought that it would be best to get the ball rolling as escrow transactions can take up to 5 weeks anyway.
