Hi Guys,

i registered WebsiteShares.com as part of a new concept
( well i hope its new )

Basically members can purchase shares ( there will be a maximum number of shares available )
and the value will rise / fall depedning on the revenue generated from my network of sites.
The shareholders will recieve payouts each month based on teh share value & amount held

Good idea or not ?

Any ideas on appprox value on domain itself will be appreicated

Thanks

Nice name, but tricky and most likely cost prohibitive concept. Securitization of website ownership via "shares" in the U.S. (and probably the EU and elsewhere) would likely be governed by securities regulations and the SEC, and cost prohibitions would make the same doubtfull to get off the ground.

Still - I like the name. Low $xxx for now, but potential for more. What you need to do, in my personal opinion (as a lawyer for 10+ years) is to find a large domain name holder or securities brokerage firm (not a small time player) and work on some sort of joint venture concept wherein they pay the legal costs to setup the the network and system to assist established website owners to develope capital through private placement of "website shares". This is the kind of thing I could go on and on about the various permutations and details that would be involved, but the basic concept would be easy to flesh out. It is the implementation and capital foundation for the project that would be difficult, it seems to me, to put together.

Good luck.

Hi,
i appreciate your comments,
im based in the UK and i think this is something i'll need to speak to my companies solicitor about

I originally intended it to be ( or hoped it would be ) fairly basic .. ie they purchase a certain amount of shares, and if say for example my sites make a total revenue of $2000 per month , if they owned 100 shares they would recieve a percentage of the revenue based on the current share price & also the amount of shares held.

Doesnt seem so straight forward now lol

Thanks Again
