For Sale Weird Expiration

I have a snap on a domain; I would prefer not to say which one if you don't mind.

Here is the situation:
1. It has expired since mid-January.
2. It was on hold.
3. Yesterday the registration was changed, apparently by the original registrar: some minor updates to the address, etc., but NO updates to the expiration date (Jan/03). Odd.
4. Even more odd is that I get a message saying that the domain has been added to the root name servers, ie. re-activated. The WHOIS data currently shows the address changes but NOT any change to the expiration date, which is still past.

My guess is that the registrar doesn't realize that his domain is expiring and updated his address?... and that the WHOIS system temporarily activated it because of the change but will toss it into the deletion cycle once it realizes the expiration date is past?

Weird is the word for Feburary's WhoIs
Check the WhoIs for the status of the domain, it's the new field. It should be either OK or RedemptionPeriod - but it might be even something else. Also mention the registrar, might help a bit to.

Status shows ACTIVE, registrar is NETWORK SOLUTIONS, INC.

Basically I got 3 notices from Snap in a row:

1. that the domain expired since mid-Jan. Weird that it let me know now but OK.

2. that the registrant info had changed: it showed the addresses & stuff changed but expiry date still out (unchanged). Any sources I can get my hands on show it still out.

3. that its been added to the root name servers

Any ideas?

I don't think it'll expire till mid to late March - but Please don't hold me to that

Active is not an expiering domain status - but keep the Snap on it till the drops are better defined.

Being added to the name servers is not an indecator either - it just means that the domain now followes the new drop system ie the 45 days period.
