What are hits?

I have a couple of domains which have some "user search hits". They don't seem to translate into revenue though. Are views and hits the same thing?

Hi there,

Views and hits are different in that views show individual users coming to the pages and hits are how the people interact with the pages. The hits show which searches people have made in the search box or which related searches people click.
