What are the disadvantages and advantages of having .name domain instead of .com

We all know that .com domain is always preferred over other domains but the recently I stumbled over a couple of ideas which if used over .name domains can actually look good at least in terms of learning URL

I would love to hear from various experts about the details of what are the disadvantages and advantages of having a .name domain

I always write disadvantages above advantages as I am sure there are some disadvantages else people must have thought of using .name domains to explore the hidden areas in Internet

Well some hackdomains can help to rank better in SERP.
Example.
FreeDomain.name
RegisterDomain.name
Register.name
Domain.name
My.name
Other than that, cannot see the advantage.

.name is one of the absolute worst extensions to have...
I do not see any single advantage unless you want to be 'creative' as described above, but I would avoid that.
