I'm pretty new to the game.

I just want to know which domains are taken:

I imagine that all LLL.com domains are taken.

Are all 3 character domains taken; eg LNL.coms? NLL.com? etc.

What about 3 with hyphen? They all taken? I imagine all L-L.com are taken. What about N-L? etc.

Cheers,

Ftaylor

Look at the price guide at 3Character.com. For any type of domain that is priced above "reg fee", assume that all domains of that type are already taken.

In addition to that site, LLLL.com are all taken (as are the canadian version of them IIRC).

Only 3 char nets and orgs are available to register but they don't have a value at this point.

All 3C .nets have been taken, but some 3C .org are still available.

they may be taken but can also drop depending on how long they regged it for and the owners situation. Grab a software and do daily searches who knows you might hit the jackpot. My advice is to watch the sales report.

What software can you get? What are 4 letter .coms worth?

Also taken: all L-L-L.com, N-N-N.com, C-C.com, C--C.com CCC.info (but last I looked there were a bunch of drops) and premium letter LLLL.net. Two letter / number all but a few obscure or high priced extensions, three letter and number .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .us, .ca, .mobi and perhaps a few more.

Does anyone know if it's true that Chinese people won't buy or use LLLL dotcoms or dot anything else because four is regarded as an unlucky number?

Even if that was completely true, that wouldn't keep speculating domainers from acquiring the domains. You have an astounding misunderstanding of the Chinese superstitions regarding number names. Do some research before making general assumptions about a specific race or culture.

Austin, did you notice the question mark after my comment - showing it was a question and not an 'assumption'? If anything, I was questioning the assumptions of others. And I'm not clear about your answer, either. Perhaps you would be so good as to enlighten me as to the significance of the number four in Chinese culture, since you seem to know so much about it?

The only thing I know about Chinese superstitions is that they like the number 8. Thanks HSBC advert on tv. There are alot of Chinese/Japanese names that start with jj for some reason. Check JJQW.com as an example (which is also a 4 letter name, thus maybe disproving your theory). I remember finding this and a number of others when I was looking for expiring obscure 4 letter .coms.
