Hi all

Suppose I find that Google.me is available. I go on and register that. What do you think? Can google sue me for this?

P.S. Google.me is NOT available. I just used this as an example.

Just wanted to know if such registrations can cause any problems.

Thanks for your time

Doesn't matter the extension. The domain is a TM.

I definitely wouldn't mess with any big companies.

what if its a service mark

I think if you register any domains that is trademarked I would assume you could possibly be sued.

But there are others here who are much better in this area and will chime in I'm sure.

you mean they can sue me if I register something like that?

They will either really nicely ask you to hand over the domain or worse case scenario file a lawsuit.

Personally, I wouldn't mess with names like these. Why take the risk. Of course, you should contact a lawyer for legal advice.

If you are intending to buy a cctld for a registered domain,
depending on the legal aspect of the country +
the presence of the TM in that country,

You can take a chance and in some cases, can register without any legal issue
