What is a broker account on Flippa ? Pretty sure it was a scam ...

I posted LLL.NET for sale for 24 hours on DP

Think my whopping high offer was $350 lol

Anyways, days later I get an e-mail from a guy claiming to be a broker stating he could sell it for bare minimum at $5,000

Immediate red flags went up. WTF Kind of broker can make a promise like that on a LLL.NET ? These things take time, patience, or a lot of research to sell in that price range.

Anyways, we negotiate commission rates (I decide to partake in this interesting journey!) ...

Then we agree, I told him go ahead and start brokering it..

He said "O.K. Please paypapl $19 to my PP account for Flippa listing. LMFAO

I said "Are you serious ? Tell you what you can use my existing 180 day listing and convert it to an auction .. Have at it"

He said that would THREATEN his broker license and 3,000,000 a year business - but needed $19 from me ? LOL

I think his name was scrapz, I will look it up again .. New kind of scam folks - watch out for it ..

Asked him to message me on DN Forum or give me his real name. No reply. Also whois protection on sites in his sig :)

Yeah the name scrapz makes sense, scamming scrapz from everyone because it all adds up LOL

It's okay mate, don't worry. The reason I use my account is because it's a broker account.

Using someone elses is also a violation of the Flippa TOU and if they saw that your account would be banned, so would mine.

I wouldn't risk a $3,000,000 transaction business account lol.

I only ever cover the end fees, never the start up fees. Nor do I need to be confident, my record of transactions shows that it's succesfull, broker accounts are only given to Flippas users that have a million dollar + worth of transactions.​

Broker accounts on Flippa does exist. I doubt this guy is a real broker. Did he provide any name or phone number?
 
Nope when I asked him to send me a PM here at DNForum or give me his real name or a reference he quit replying, or returned a PM stating he didn't have to prove himself he had $3,000,000 a year in sales. Either a guy with a HUGE ego - or a fake, period. If huge EGO - Great but let him prove himself to me. No prominent broker spends time piddling away at low paying jobs on DP - period.

Checking his past posting history he was in $10 - $25 sales threads .. If you sold $3,000,000 a year as a broke .. meaning you made min $300K - would YOU be doing $25 jobs here and there ? :)

The added whois privacy on domains in his sig only raises more flags.
 
100% scam I would bet money on it.
 
flippa is the worst site to use for any domain trade, harbored by scammers and criminals.

It's called a "broker" because most of the time they're broker than you are.
