A traffic domain is one that is receiving visitors. This traffic may be from type-ins (where someone just types the name into their browser) from search engines (where the site has been indexed) and from links (where other people have a hyperlink from their site to the domain name)

It's nothing to be frightened of

It's actually a good thing and makes the domain more valuable.

Once you have cornered a domain with traffic, your next step would be to deteriine the nature and context of your visitor's "inquiries" based on the three sources 2gajgops mentions.

If your "traffic" arrives to your site seeking free game cheats and your site is about subscribing to your gardening advisory column, your "traffic" will be apparently not utilized well -at least IMHO.

Some say "traffic is traffic" (same ones who benefit from pop-ups, nasty dialers, and spyware planters) but I am far from convinced...
