If you have a domain and have been thinking about developing it for some time, I am taking a poll as to what you think is hindering your efforts to launch the site.

Please feel free to take the poll and add your comments below. If it's money, or lack of expertise let us hear about it.

OF course sometimes there are multiple reasons for not doing something, and if that is the case, pick the "best" answer in the poll, and "add" the other reasons below in the comment area.

SOMETHING to think about: Investments and opportunity are maximized when a small group of people realize the value of collaboration.

when i build a website the thing that slow me the most is SE delay to make your web site appear
sometime i have to wait for months untill i finally appear in SE
(not talking of course of appearing on keyword that noboby type it s easy and no use, like we recently saw in thread many time recently, i m talking of KEYWORDS that actually bring people)

Second thing that slow me the most is content, it s hard to get or make good contents economicly viable

Don't have the time :(

I try to get something up besides a dead page but at the rate I have been regging names its hard to keep up with development and promotion.

I have a standard page layout I use for my Adult names so they go up kinda quick, just an affiliate page with a PPC script using searchfeed results.

As technology gets better so too will our ability exploit this important "commodity". Moreover.com was probably one of the early pioneers in helping webmasters with content, however their stuff doesn't provide enough "stickiness" and if you want the good stuff you will have to pay for it.

short-term izopodian solution: The cheapest content out there can be found on Forums. I wonder if a script could be created for webmasters to cut and past on their sites. The script would pull in relevant topics from a "participating forum" to the persons site. Forum owners would benefit from increased exposure and the webmasters would get "ForumContentâ„¢" (izopod, 2003) at a very low price!:D ForumContentâ„¢ would add the "personal touch" to create the stickiness websites need.

I once asked them how much and they wrote back to say $6,000 a year for one subject matter.

Moreover news links don't seem to be working anymore for sites still displaying them that were obtained for free.

Perfectionism.

If that logo doesn't look more than perfect, than it isn't ready.
If the design doesn't look more than perfect, than it isn't ready.
If the colors used in the design aren't perfect, than it isn't ready.
If..etc...

Oh, and the lack of money. :)

Ah Yep!! That's my problem too... however I have to have the "perfect business" :D

I will say this perfectionism is a disease that can be treated. All you have to do is forget about "what others think"!!

It's easier said then done!! :D

There are easy ways to get traffic to a site early.
1. Pay for traffic from pay-per-click search engines. If you don't have a lot of $ to spend, stay away from Overture. There are lot's of others that are cheap.
2. I have lots of parked domains that generate traffic. When I want traffic for a new site, I redirect the domain traffic to the new site. I can do that for you (at a cost, since all of my names are directed somewhere generating revenue). This can be super effective if the names fit well for your site.
3. Place links from your existing sites to your new site. This helps many ways, including search engine ranking.

Do not sit around and wait for the search engines.

I never have time. Every time I develop something, I get a different idea for something else and work on that. I'LL NEVER FINISH A PROJECT! EVER!

I used to write a lot of research papers. The quotes let you know the idea being written about hasn't been regurgitated from another source rather it's actually my own idea. It's funny but with the popularity of the internet rising more stuff is copied then ever before. I don't even like reading newspapers anymore because a lot of the articles have been copied from the internet and visa versa.

The title I have btw (2003 a.d) is more of a fun thing. It's a izopodian philosophy thing you could say!!
