I am building a website for a client who wants to sell her book online. I was planning on using PayPal... It is fairly easy to set up and it would be a per transaction fee... even though I am not a big fan of the fees involved, it would not make sense to pay for a monthly credit card processing account, she is likely not going to sell enough books to cover the costs, at least not starting out...

I suppose an ebay store might be an option, but she would prefer to have the sales come from her own website...

Any suggestions or advice on a good way to do this?

Thanks!

For a one item promotional site like you describe, PayPal is your best option (IMHO). I wouldn't open an eBay "store", but she should probably list the book on eBay for promotional value only, do the "about me" page very nicely and discreetly get a website plug in - to stay clear of listing problems, I usually just use a "For more info email me at [email protected]", this tends to get people typing in the domain to learn more.

Good luck.
