Ive been a web developer for some years now and always thought domaining could have an interesting community.

I was inspires by Chris Chena, although I have never met him he bought the domain name clasificados.com while I was working on a personal site clasificadosmejores.com

I just made an account on dnforum yesterday and have not been able to stop posting :)

I came in domaining only for THE MONEY.
I was inspired by Chris Chena too some years ago.

I registered a couple for websites, then my wife said "oh, you should get these - they're great". Coincidentally, they were also my first drops. :D

After my friend giving me a crappy .co.uk domain (he regged for some reason but didn't wanna renew, lol) as a gift in late 2006. LOL

LOl funny to hear ..those stories....i was a webdesigner from 2001 and i never knew that an domain market exisits :( lol i was shocked...when..i came to know about domaining ...by my friend who said some one offerd his friend $1000 for a domain name he registered lol...i was like iam working so hard on designing to earn that $1000 and some one is offers $1k just for an domain ...i was arguing .....then i explored .................. sedo.com .....for past 1 year my highest sale was $100 LOL i just got my break into domaining recently ..all the hard work research paid.....off..SHould thank everyone out here

At first I was picking domains for my own use then I began to see the potential and soon I had been domaining without knowing it :D
That was ten years ago.

as lot of people here in india doesnt know what is domaining...they just blink if i say i buy sell domains lol..

Available domain names.

Ok, this one will be funny, I was a typical young lad that got enticed by free hot pics of girls available on the net, from there it lead to running an ISP then domains.

But my love of the ladies brought me to the net back when newsgroups were big.

Can't be more honest than that.

I was a moderator on a forum, and, one day I was talking to the owner of the forum, and he mentioned that he'd been offered $xx,xxx for a domain he owned. I said: 'Why would anyone pay you that kind of money just for that?'

He explained it to me...

I was a domainer the next day...lol

.

I work in IT and learning to expand in Internet. My first registered domain name is companyname-asia.com  dropped years ago.

And since then, collecting domains related to anything and develop it...:asleep:

I must have read some news stories in 1999 about high priced domain sales, then regged my first domains in Jan 2000 thinking I could get some big sales too. Back then I used Register.com and listed domains on GreatDomains. But when the internet bust happened I let some drop and kept ones I liked - kind of got out of it for a few years, when other guys were building great portfolios. I had no idea about traffic domains, just thought you made money from selling domains to people who needed them. Got back into domaining again in 2005.

I discovered domaining while browsing wikipedia and reading about various tld's and cctld's.

I first reg'd my last name (nosbisch(.)com - let it drop though) when I was 14 and sold a hosting company (unseeked(.)com) when I was 15, but didn't get into actually buying and selling domains until I was working as a software engineer while still going to college. I mean I could only blow so much money on alcohol in college, so I had to invest in something.

I started buying names for personal use back in 2001 and developing websites. It was a few years later that i realized that there is money to be made purely from owning domains. Ever since, i began participating in auctions and i was hooked.
