If I want to purchase a SNAP... Where do I get it?

* Snaps.com
* Snapnames.com
* NameAlert.com
* NameWinner.com

... somewhere else?

I'm buying mine at DomainState until cheap DNForum snaps become available.

I'm not sure I understand your pole.

You’re comparing apples, oranges and pears.

Snaps.com and NameAlerts.com provide the same product, however snaps.com is $1 cheaper. $44.95 vs. $43.95. So why would you not buy at snaps.com? (unless you don't like the proprietor) The snap from either has a 3 limit exchange on it. You pay before the service is attempted. If you don't catch a name on any of the 4 attempts, you're out the $43.95

Snapnames.com offers the same product as above however there is no exchange limit on these snaps. The cost is $69. You pay before the service is attempted. If you don't catch a name on unlimited attempts within a year, you're out the $69

Name Winner is a bid system drop catching system. The person with the highest bid on a name as of 11:00 AM pacific on the day the name drops is the bidder who will win the name, IF Name Winner grabs it. You only pay if Name Winner is successful.

There are plenty of other drop catching services as well.

Snaps.com is the DNF discounted snaps broker.

I think it would help if people on the forum only used the term "snaps" to refer to snap back orders, which are all provided ultimately by SnapNames.com

NameWinner is a bidding system not a snap back order.

I would buy at NameAlerts.com rather than Snaps.com because I don't have access to PayPal.com. Simple.

I usually use snapnames. But, I bought about 20 - 30 snaps when they were discounted. And, after that.

The only problem I see with Snaps is that more
people are using the service. I guess $40+ is easier to buy then
$ 69. So, I can not get the snap since someone has moved quicker on the name then me.

Does anyone know where to get snapnames at a discount?

Snaps.com for me!

It started here at DNF - has a great price and easy to use interface - and it just feels 'right'. :)

Since Snaps.com no longer is tied to the DNF user DB, we can't check for user status, therefore, snaps at www.snaps.com are $43.95 for everyone. :)

I just bought another one there this morning. Nice clean interface, nice price and good customer service. On the down side, the owner can be a pain in the butt sometimes. :)

Now that I'm not responsible for keeping this site going, I'm less of a pain in the butt. :)

How long before you get notification from Snaps.com on a successful snap? Had one come through on Monday and haven't seen anything yet.

Normally you get notified the same day. It appears the same thing that happened to me a couple of times has happened to you. Snapnames grabbed the name and for whatever reason there is a delay putting the name into your account. The way you know this is Snapnames has cleared all your exchanges on this name to prevent you from clearing a name you got already and putting a snap on another name. You should get the email any day now.

OK, I did see the exchanges go to zero which comfirmed I got the name. Usually I get notification early evening the same day.

It is NameAlerts.com & NOT namealert.com. Someone could get confused.

Tino, can you or the moderators change the URL to the correct one !!
