For Sale What trickery is this ?

Im finding quite a few domains, that are dropping today, where NameKing is the official registrar... but Nameking has no record of it when I whois the domain from their site.

What trickery is this ?

Shouldn't NameKing still have a record of it, or is it in limbo right now until the minute it expires or what ?

I have Snapnames' in the loop to hopefully be able to grab them.. but they've failed me in the past. I hate Pool.com - Can anyone speak to one that has a good record of catching prime names ?

unfortunately catching & prime names nowadays is a major contradiction. I use Pool, SnapNames, TDNAM and all "prime" names end up in unreal auctions which remind me valuation of Nasdaq in 2000...

i.e. bsh.net $1650 3h to go!! / kju.com $4,5K 3h to go/ entity.net $1.5K 2 days to go / you get the point...

hi. generally whois is disabled for a domain once it hits Registrar-Hold period (expiration date) Note, there is a difference between expiration date and drop date. Drop = few months after expiration.

So, domains with registrar-hold, redemptionperiod, pendingdelete will not have any contact info in the whois except for the registrar.

However, a good service, www.whois.sc offers historical whois data so you may be able to go back a few years or months on that domain (though they charge for this added service)
