For those that are investing in this TLD, what do you think needs to happen before these domain names take off? Any recent news about .MX domains? Has anyone seen any cool .MX websites that aren't cheesy? :?:

relax... .mx isn't a vanity extension like .me or .travel. It's a solid cctld like .de or .co.uk of an economically and politically "stable" country. It doesn't need a "take off" period. It simply will have and enjoy its time in the sun. It's already taken off with premium names purchased at $800 from day 1. "Taking off" is not a bunch of nickle and dimers flooding the forums with .mx domains in the For Sale section of the forum.:ok:

Kind of like India with .co.in and .in.

Personally, if we had .co.ca or .com.ca in Canada for years, I couldn't wait to start using a .ca if they were released later like this.

In India, many commercial firms still prefer .co.in instead of .in.

.in was introduced on early 2005, but Google still redirects Google.in to Google.co.in

It would take at least 2 - 5 years for .MX to take off, IMO.

not a lot of people in mexico have wifi access also the mexican people are real big with the .com , so in my opinion .mx is going to be a slow slow process. i see it in 5 to 10 years before it takes off.

well one thing to note is south korea, the most wired country, primarily only uses co.kr even though they have .kr

some places it will never take off.. we ll see in mexico

Malaysia, Singapore and The Philippines are other examples where the .com.xx is preferred.

It'd be nice if Google started using Google.mx
Right now they aren't even redirecting it.

Just sold Get.mx at a more then acceptable ROI... (private sell)... I believe in the .mx extension and invested in accordance with that confidence from the very beginning and have not been disappointed.
