For Sale What's up with droplists.net?

Just upgraded my membership to Platinum and checked out the droplists.net service, none of the lists are working?

In fact if I didn't miss my guess I'd say this is a different front end for whatever Namesniper is running on these days (namesniper, which used to be good but is now pretty useless IMHO)

namesniper is getting a new core, it will be completely rewritten. this is
being worked on now. should be done in a week or less. it also has a new
owner (no longer owned by Armen).

droplists.net is experiencing some severe server problems. it's in the queue
of things to be done, i've just been super busy with more important matters.

i created both services but no longer own them. the problem is that all
require a bit of maintenance which they never received since they were
sold (over a year ago)

when things get overlooked for a while, problems pile up and we're left
with this big web of problems which we have now on droplists.

droplists.net actually uses its OWN lists (it creates them from raw zone
files) while Namesniper uses exody. the interfaces are similar, but the one
used on droplists is far more powerful. the other problem was that DL was
designed for multiple users. now, all users access using the same account
which defeats the purpose of customized lists, custom keywords, daily
emails and many other great features. this is why a lot of the time you'll
see lists in raw text format instead of clean HTML, the person who just
used the shared account before you selected raw text as default list display. i created
a script for DNF that generates accounts for ALL Plat members and e-mails
them a username/password. this was about a year ago. it was never used.

i'll fix the droplists issue as soon as namesniper is completed. give it at least
a week.

So you're still involved even though you sold it? FWIW I thought namesniper rocked when you ran it (as a small piece of trivia, I was the one who sold you the namesniper.com domain name

I was very disappointed last time I subscribed (about a month ago), in fact whoever owned it really has no business taking new subscribers at this point, everything just stopped working after a week and no reponse to email.

I took care of NS for about 1.5 years after I sold it. Occasional updates,
and customer support issues. The owner had limited access to the Internet
at the time so I felt that if I had to help him a bit or it would crash and
burn.

I haven't really touched any of the sites in about 5 months. Last time was
when I moved NS from one server to another, after which the problems
started. The server was screwy, so it was giving us a lot of errors on scripts
that ran perfectly fine before.

The new core looks pretty smooth so far. The tools are more powerful than
ever. I'll be done with it hopefully this week, and will start serious testing
in a few days. Assuming that I get paid for the remake (NS), it'll be ready
sometime mid next week.

I remember purchasing NS about 2 and a half years ago. It was originally
planned to be a dropcatching service like Snap but at the time I didn't
have enough RRP programming knowledge. Good to hear from you again!

I'll keep you guys updated, and if the new owner allows will maybe do some
beta accounts for a week or two.

Yes, I remember, I sent that script to the programmers and I guess they never used it. Do you still have it? Maybe we can implement it when droplists is fixed. Thanks Luc!

I have downloaded the following list from DROPLISTS:
Registrar-Hold Database (All Reg-Hold Domains) ~ 15 Megabytes
It contains outdated information. Domains of May...
Also, I've signed to namesniper in August and found that all their lists are empty. So I had to request a refund... It does not look like serious business when they knowingly accept credit card subscriptions for non-operational service.

or are most gone by tiem they drop with pool and services like that?
