.. how many months revenue should I pay for it? How many months revenue sellers usually ask for? I suppose that figure is not the same for name making 5$/month and for one making 20$/day, but what is an optimal number for domains with pure type-in traffic?

It depends on many factors. Mainly:

Quality of the name
Future prospectives of the traffic / revenue.

A normal range would be somewhere between 24 and 60 months of revenue.

But there are plenty of exceptions!!!

no matter what sellers want, try to push for lesser months. Generally, you can find domains being sold for 10-20 months' revenue if you try to bargain. Don't say you will pay 24 months revenue.

I agree there are several factors, one major factor being the name itself. A generic dot com is worth many more years based on rev, plus a premium then anything else...imo.

For a genric one word dot com based on rev. alone expect to pay 10 plus years plus a premium.

For a generic but well phrased 2 word combo dot com it could be similar depending on the term/use but generally less.

All he rest such as typo's, tm's, other ext. etc....1-3 years.

as a side note
Unless you personnally no the seller or can evaluate the traffic and revenue yourself dont spend much, many many buyers have been duped by sellers fudging the stats, especially when they offer to sell for 6-24 months revenue most sellers who have genuine stats no they have gems and go for top dollar
dont beleive most stats unless you can evaluate yourself
