I caught that one with a (usually not very sucessful) script at non-drop time, and I'd like
to find out why. It was PENDINGDELETE, so maybe someone knows when it should have
dropped.

It was PENDINGDELETE until today (have whois records), so it should have dropped. I'm just not sure if it should have dropped tonight or yesterday. If it was tonight, I caught it a few hours early, if yesterday, something else went wrong.

It might have been caught by the data mining registrars and they dropped it the following day.
