The "premium" the writer was referring to was the difference in cost between 9.95 for an unregistered domain (new registration) and the 195.00 that was paid for the domain. As for your edit, sexist comments like that don't belong here.

The alleged premium was the stingy approach of wanting to pay "reg fee" - with Yahoo no less (ROFL) - versus forking out a month's salary of $3k

As for my comments they are based on my own personal professional experience - I don't expect them to be adopted by everyone, especially not by those that don't belong in the alpha male category.

I am talking from experience: women buyers, like the article writer, are: demanding, holier-than-thou, ignorant, persistant, impolite, time-wasters. With regards to haggling I find it rather annoying and in most cases I end up going the opposite direction quoting them an even higher price when they come back later. If you want a domain then you should offer a reasonable amount $500-$1,500 or else risk loosing it to someone else in the near future. I have observed several names at BuyDomains get bought under my nose while I was waiting for them to drop the price. Windows of opportunity are closing every single day.

I have to re-search a place a found some time ago, it was some "webmaster" forum related, where like 20 or so """"webmasters""" were talking about "stolen domains" to refer to domains that were let to drop and catched for someone else ....
