Hi folks,

I was just wondering where are the best places other than forums to list your names for sale at the moment? I am currently listing my names at sedo and afternic, I was going to give bido R.I.P. a go but since it’s now closed that won’t be happening. I know ebay is another option but I haven’t heard great things about them and don’t really want to fork out for numerous expensive listing fees. I was wondering is there anywhere else worth considering? Also is the pool market place any good?

Thanks

Do not sell on Egay. Try facebook, linkedin, depending on the domains here?

After participating in Facebook a lot I have never seen an indication of a domain selling there (and rarely any feedback/questions) even though the majority of my FB friends are domainers who sometime post domans for sale.

well I didnt just randomly create an account. I added domainers from a variety of forums, networks, and registars.

Hi. I'm just confirming what BetConcept, and A LOT more. Selling domain names on ebay WAS an option long, LONG ago. It's been truly a joke/waste of time for several years.

I've tried sedo and the others a few times, but have never sold even one name through any of them. So I built my own site and do okay with it.

Oh... speaking of jokes... you're lucky bido is out of business.

Lots of luck!

Wow! That's great! It makes me smile when I learn that something is working for someone, especially that they've sold names, etc. :)

Yeah I know I will have to work on the facebook thing to see any results, how does the craigslist thing work? Again it’s not something I have really checked out before, I have had a quick look but everything seems to be listed by region then category, how is this any good for domains? Wouldn’t domains require just a category listing rather than a regional one, how is it that you list your names with them?

Thanks

if you have crap names, then it doesn't matter where you list them-

because nobody wants them.

but if you have quality domains, then you will be found....eventually

imo...

More importantly, what is the price of those sales being made in that way ?

About 12 sales per year from Sedo,
plus a few from Afternic;
About 12 sales per year from forums;
About 12 per year from unsolicited approaches to potential end-users.

I used to sell bunches of lower-value names on Bido, and bought a few bargains there too.

Thanks for the suggestions to try Facebook and Craigs list; never thought of using them for this before.
Also: I've never had my own site listing my domains. I guess I should.

I have domains that sold for xxx on FB and domains that I have brokered sell for xxxx - xx,xxx. I also look for FB posts from others requesting specific types of names as well or by joining their groups.

The truth hurts, but this statement is right for the most part. I have noticed an uptick on sedo lately though...but all sales and inquiries have been for nice names...
