I don't know where are we heading with NNNNN.coms

I see many 5N.coms dropping everyday though they are being caught instantly.
I see many sellers selling 5N.coms for $10 each which have almost a year before they expire.

Could someone throw some light on it

the quick sellers are just looking for profit , some are in it for the long haul , find some good ones and keep

very few 5 digit .com's are worth something imo
I literally picked up half a dozen for that reason.

NNN & NNNN are a different ballgame entirely imho

Just be selective which 5 NNNNN.com you buy & only hold a small amount is my advice

I've done pretty well with my NNNNN.com's in terms of traffic and sales. Given that they haven't risen as much as I expected, I have sold a number of them and put my better ones (about 500) on multi-year registration. Given the overall economy and domain market, I wouldn't expect any short-term movement of any significance, unless there is a big breakthrough in numeric domains (mobile searching using numerics, Chinese market rapidly expanding, etc.), which could happen any time.

and all the collectors are just waiting in the wings for the shotgun sellers and renewal doubters to let them go for nothing

personally I like them for the long haul and the Chinese aint slowing down, despite the "economy"

edited to add.... discernment is still required as Pred points out tho ;P

my 2c

Answer will be shown ~45 days after mid-Feb which is when the buyout took place. If there are many drops then that is a sign that many people have given up in this sector. By looking at for sale postings in forums, it looks like many people have given up already and are trying to regain a few pennies from their initial investment before their names expire.

Vultures will be flying ahead in March-April.

My 2 pennies

I've seen some selling for $3 each. The buyout was speculator driven and the aftermarket demand hasn't caught up, especially in this economy. Hold/buy some good ones and wait, they are universal and likely have a future.

Have the vultures PM me if they want to get some ahead of time & for less than a catch fee.

I agree. I tested the waters with some NNNNN.com and they sold for $8 for the first one, $3 for the second, and I think $1 for the third.

I'm going to take a look at my collection and decide which ones to keep then offload the rest for almost nothing. My first large buy in was a loss (and I don't want to pay the renewal fees). :(

A buyer would actually be paying more because they would buy your names off of you then have to pay for the renewal in Feb again. If i'm a buyer I will wait until they are available in March-April.

Far better saving renewal fees and grouping money together and buying ONE uber premium NNN.com for relative chump change, then reap the rewards later as the world recovers, which it will.
Ooh, whats that below ? ;)
