Where to register .fr domains?

Where to register .fr domains? must they be a resident of france to register?
can anybody shed a light?

The owner and admin contact address should be in France.

Trustee/proxy or mail forwarding services will do.

I've worked with several registrars, and I find EuroDNS the least difficult to deal with, mainly because Freddy there does such a great job: he's very responsive and helpful (pm me if you need his email address).

Depending on your needs, there are other registrars which are cheaper, eg. gandi.net

Ive have registered via eurodns before 2 domain names.fr with my cousins details (he is french living in france) then i paid wif my credit card.. then its pending registration n then the next few days i saw it dissapear from my eurodns.com account ..i dunno why n dint know wat to do ,.it was last oct when i did this. maybe i shud pm this freddy to ask about it..

it's probably their ill-conceived "fraud detection".

These systems will usually flag everyone with an IP address in Asia and a whois address in a different place as fraudulent. It's annoying and not very professional, but it can be sorted out.

I remember Eurodns has been sued by the registry (Afnic) in the past because of that. I'm not sure it's a good idea to do that.

Eurodns used the same proxy for thousands of domains (Laurent Nunenthal; try a google search). AFNIC felt that was too much...

A family member living in France as a proxy for a few domains will work just fine.

we like Creditcards from asia.
we like all Creditcards.
the point is if we see a Creditcard first time, doesnt matter which country, we are a bit more careful.

by the way, this issue is solved.
